Project Location
Rabigh City, Saudi Arabia. Approximately 3 km away from the Red Sea, adjacent to highway 5, a major traffic artery of Saudi Arabia.
Work Content and Scope
EPC general contractor intends to build a combined cycle power plant with power supply capacity as ~ 1,200MW, desalination capacity as ~ 100,000 m³/d and cooling capacity as ~ 30MW. It is designed to use natural gas and build 3 one-drive-ones (three 9F gas turbine generator unit + three vertical natural circulation triple-pressure HRSG + three 160MW triple-pressure condensing steam turbine generator unit). In respect of desalination equipment, the contractor intends to adopt advanced domestic desalination technological equipment as well as thermal multistage evaporation MED-TVC technology in intercepting various inorganic ions, colloidal substances and macromolecular solutes in seawater so as to obtain clean water. The thermal multistage evaporation process features ****** operation and low energy consumption, and has been developed rapidly in the past 20 years. Now the technology has been used for desalination widely and become more mature and reliable. The project includes 25-year guaranteed operation period of the power plant and desalination.

It is designed to use natural gas and build four one-drive-ones (four 9F gas turbine generator unit + four vertical natural circulation triple-pressure HRSG + four 160MW triple-pressure condensing steam turbine generator unit). The thermal multistage evaporation process features ****** operation and low energy consumption, and has been developed rapidly in the past 20 years. Now the technology has been used for desalination widely and become more mature and reliable. The project includes 25-year guaranteed operation period of the power plant and desalination.
